Burglary in Kishtwar; traders held protest, observes complete bandh

Kishtwar, Feb 22: unidentified burglers decamped with electronic items worth over rupees 40 lakhs from an electronic shop A D Agency situated at ever busy chowk at Bus Stand Kishtwar less than 100 meters away from the house of MOS Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, beside only half kilometer from Police Station Kishtwar. The buglers after committing the burglary set the shopping complex on fire as a result of which property worth over one corer got badly damage.
Deraj Sharma owner of the said shop said that he was informed by some passerby about the incident "I rushed to spot and brought the matter into notice of police and fire tender department, to control the fire" he said.
"About 400 mobile phones, Digital Camera, Handi cams, Laptops, memory cards, few LCD's, Pen drives and other electronic items were stolen while 2 dozen refrigerators, 2 dozen washing machines, 25 LCD TV's of different range, over 200 Dish TV/Tata Sky/Airtel Digital boxes, micro wave Owens and electronic presses were gutted in the fire.
Police has registered a case started investigation. Video footage of the CCTV cameras installed inside the electronic shop is being scrutinized. ADC, Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan also with police officials have visited the spot to access the loss of property.
Meanwhile, the trade Union Kishtwar has held a strong protest against the growing cases of burglary in the town and observed complete band. Angry traders shouted anti administration and anti police slogans and demand an immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the theft case.
After assurance from ADC Kishtwar, the traders called off their protest.
