| Tractor carrying firewood illegally seized | | |
Kathua, Feb 21: Police today claimed to have seized a tractor trolley at Rajbagh Kathua which was illegally carrying more quality of fire wood against the prescribed limits of 55 quintals, police sources said. The seizure of vehicle has put the concerned official under scanner who are just beating about the bush.
Police sources said as per the Challan which was issued by the Block Officer (BO) Jasbinder Singh the quantity of the fire wood was 55 quintal but when the police measured weight of the fire wood it is found 95 quintal which makes anyone suspicious about the challan. When the this correspondent questioned Range Officer Subash Chander, he briefly replied that the department has no effective weight and measurement system to measure the exact quantity of fire woods it may be less or more. He however added that we too are looking in to the matter while the forest department is investigating this case.
