Jammu, Feb 21: After the successful conclusion of elections of office-bearers of Bar Association Jammu (BAJ), the newly elected team of office-bearers were formally handed over the charge of the Association in an impressive 'Handing over-Taking over' ceremony organised in the conference hall of the District Courts Complex, Jammu. This was for the first time in the history of the Bar Association Jammu that the handing over- taking over ceremony of the Charge of Bar Association was attended by General House of BAJ. At the onset function started with thanks-giving to the members of the Election-committee comprising advocates S Jaspinder Singh, Minu Koul, S K Shukla, J P Gandhi, C S Gupta, Ravinder Sharma and C M Sharma who were presented mementoes. Vikram Sharma welcomed the newly elected team of office-bearers to the stage under the Presidentship of M K Bhardwaj, Senior Advocate, which was accompanied by a rousing reception accorded by the members of the Bar. Earlier outgoing President Bhupinder Singh Slathia, Sr Advocate, the former General Secretary of the Bar Association Jammu and Vikram Sharma, Advocate spoke about the achievements accomplished by their team. They expressed thanks to the Gulam Nabi Azad, Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Tara Chand, Deputy Chief Minister, Sham Lal Sharma Minister, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta MLA, R S Chib the then Minister for sports, Subash Chander Gupta MLC, Ashok Prasad the Director General of J&K Police and others for their self-less aid towards infrastructural development for members of the Bar Association Jammu. Newly elected president M K Bhardwaj, President of the Bar Association Jammu in his address exhorted the Bar members to keep him and his newly team guided to enable the team move on the path of development set by the erstwhile team and promote it further. The function concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs Sindhu Sharma, Vice-president. |
