| Man jumps from Tawi Bridge, succumbs | | | early times report Jammu, Feb 21: In a tragic incident, a middle aged man, accompanied by his wife, jumped over a busy Tawi Bridge and ended his life, here today. The deceased has been identified as one 40 years old Pawan Kumar son of Krishan Lal resident of Paloura. According to eyewitnesses, the couple was walking on one of the sides of Tawi Bridge, when all of a sudden, the middle aged person just stood over the side walls of the bridge and jumped from there, giving no chance to other passersby to save him from falling over the bridge, that resulted to his death. According to reports, the proceedings have initiated under section 174 CrPc of Ranbir Panel Code (RPC) by a police team of Police Station Nowabad and the body was shifted to Govern-ment Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) for post-mortem. The incident took place at about 5 pm today. However, the reasons behind taking such grave attempt to commit suicide could not be ascertained as the wailing family members of the deceased were not in a condition to answer the police queries. According to police, the postmortem of the deceased would be made tomorrow morning and it would be only after the postmortem report and after recording the statement of the of the relatives of the deceased,, the cause behind the such an attempt could be ascertained. |
