Kishtwar, Feb 24: Tug of war within Omar Abdullah led Congress-NC coalition over decision making even in security related issues has left administration disgruntled and people vulnerable. Owing to lack of consensus, the coalition government has failed to appoint district police heads in sensitive Jammu and Kishtwar districts is a clear case in point, wherein the security has been compromised in the backdrop of Hyderabad blasts following which country was put on high alert. The slots of SSP Jammu and Kishtwar got vacant after Prabhat Singh got retired on 31-1-2013, while SSP Kishtwar Bhim Sen Tutti proceeded for deputation to Home state couple of days ago. Even though the government was fully aware about the retirement date of SSP Jammu Prabhat Singh and also about clearance to SSP Kishtwar Bhim Sen Tutti deputation to Home state in the month of May 2012, it failed to reach any consensus over the appointment of District police heads during various cabinet meetings, thus hampering the day to day functioning in police department in these two District. Even though both In charge SPs Rajeshwar Singh and Kulbir Singh fulfils all the criteria to fill the vacant slots, but both were made incharge SSPs, that too without any drawing and disbursing power. The lack of consensus over postings is evident not only on police front, the two coalition partners also failed agree over several other vital issues of larger public relavance. |
