Jammu, Feb 24: Feigning ignorance or may be genuinely so, the Secretary of J&K Cultural Academy where Javed Rahi works in senior capacity, Khalid Bashir said he did not know Rahi's name is affiliated with any organization . "Certainly no government official is permitted to do so ….I do not know what is the nature and mode of functioning of these bodies ….if it is a gainful engagement in terms of any benefits , monetary or otherwise ….no official is allowed that, said Secretary of the Academy. I will have to see exactly what is the role of these bodies…if he doing it in private capacity …..if that is any NGO and for what purpose it is working…..", Khalid Bashir said when his comments were sought as to whether any government official can indulge in activism.
