| Hawala Transaction detected in Mendhar | | |

POONCH, Feb 24: A huge amount of Rs 50 lakhs apparently a Hawala transaction was came to light in Mendhar town in Poonch district recently. Police has sealed the account which belongs to a resident of Mendhar and started investigation about the source of such a huge amount.
The account holder reportedly identified as Shokat Hussin has been taken into custody by the police and was put under sustained interrogation.
When contacted District Superintendent of Police (SP) Poonch said that the disclosing more details in the matter can hamper the police investigation and may alert the persons involved in this transaction.
Another senior police officer at Rajouri said that the source of the transaction has been detected at Delhi and it cannot be ruled out that it was a handiwork of Hawala network
Meanwhile, Police have reportedly registered a case under section 420/ 467/471 RPC at Police Station Mendhar |
