JKPPM decides to vote against Congress-NC

Rajouri, Mar 5: Jammu and Kashmir Pahari People Movement (JKPPM) has decided to vote against Congress and National Conference candidates in the next assembly election, if their demand for ST status will not conceded before next election. According to press release, this was decided by the community delegates from across the state in a meeting, which was held few days ago under the president ship of Shahbaz Khan, Chief Executive J&K Pahri People Movement (JKPPM) at Sunderbani in the district.
"If our leaders / Legislatures failed to get the ST statues before next Assembly election we can launch a new party and will field our candidates" said MA Sagar, provincial president and Vijay Kochar provincial general secretary, JKPPM.
They further said that more than 2 lakh educated unemployed youth of the community have been deprived of their rights for government jobs due to no reservations for the community and they are getting over age.
More than 60 percent, according to JKPPM officials, Pahari speaking community living in Poonch, Mendhar, Suran kot (in Poonch district), Rajouri , Kalakot, Noushera, Darhal (in Rajouri district, Uri, Kupwara, Shopian and about 40 percent in Anatnag, Barmulla, Gurz , Kangan and more than 80 in SriNagar city.
"Our struggle for ST status is more than 30 years old and any further delay may be dangerous for state as well as for central government as our unemployed educated youth may become prey of anti social and anti-national elements like youth of Kashmir valley in the past" said Shabaz Khan.
