If Mehbooba weeps for Guru, Omar has to break down
Competitive politics

JAMMU, Mar 5: The competitive politics between NC and PDP, bordering on up-manship, has moved from political rhetoric to emotional outpouring.
On Monday, Mehbooba Mufti had tears in her eyes, while speaking during adjournment motion on Afzal Guru, when she said "We all have concerns for our children. Didn't Guru had same feelings for his son. Why he was denied meeting him last time,", Mehbooba asked in a choked voice .
A day after, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah broke down, when he was informed about the killing of a youth in the Baramullah.
The chief minister had tears rolling down, he was numb for some time, his expression showing concern for the family members.
The emotional outpouring over any death is understandable and any human being with even an iota of humanity can't hold himself together over a death.
Omar said he was informed about hanging of Guru only a few hours in advance despite the fact that he had made his apprehensions known to the Centre.
The same CM didn't moisten his eyes when more than a 100 youth died in 2010 violence.
In fact, if one recalls exactly, he had said that a handful of youth of stone throwers can hold the entire Kashmir to ransom.
"There is violence in just few police stations and not entire Kashmiri is burning. A handful of stone throwers can't hold the State to ransom," he had said.
But now Omar shed tears for a boy. However, he broke down a day after Mahbooba expressed concern over the way Guru's family has been betrayed.
On both the occasions, the media and the entire bureaucracy were watching and so were the legislators.
