| Spat between Saifullah, Baig | | | ET Plus Report
Jammu, Mar 5: Law Minister Mir Saifulla and senior PDP leader Muzaffar Baig, both law knowing persons had a spat today in the Legislative Assembly when the latter contested his remark with reference to constitutional provisions of Sec 24 -A.
It was during the discussion in the Assembly when Law Minister got up to say Baig had incorrectly mentioned the Section as having details as to why and on what grounds Plebiscite Front was declared as illegal organization. "There is no such provision in the Section….perhaps Baig Sahab said it incorrectly as it mentions some other information…". Law minister said only to irk Baig who got up give all historical background on the subject . Retorting Law minister's contention , Baig said he could even seek details from experts on the subject who have been witness to the contents and its applications in the past.
Meanwhile , PDP's MLA Javed Mir Mustafa got up to register his anger against what he sought the remarks to be expunged or withdrawn when the Law minister referred to PDP's concern over Afzal guru with expression like "dramabaazi'. Law minister said whatever PDP said was no less than staging a political drama. This angered Mustafa who came in front of the well to register protest. |
