| Tarigami demands release of wages of PDD casual labours in J&K | | | ET Plus Report
Jammu, Mar 5: The CPI(M) state general secretary Kulgam Mohammad Yousuf Tarigam today demanded the release of wages of casual labourers of Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Department(PDD).
Raising the issue of agitating PDD casual labourers in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mr Tarigami said, "The government should release Rs 6.50 crore payment of their wages as promised by the government one year before."
"It is unfortunate that assurance given to the agitating PDD workers for payment of wages on February 9, 2012 in a meeting is yet to be fulfilled," the CPI (M)leader said.
He said despite repeated reminders through deputations, demonstrations, the government has not cleared their dues, which has created uncertainty among the ranks of workers.
Mr Tarigami urged upon the government not to delay it further and immediately fulfill their demand and release the assured amount for the payment of their wages. |
