| Kerosene black marketing goes unabated | | | ET Plus Report
Bhaderwah, Mar 5: The black-marketing of subsidised kerosene to bus and minibus operators by some government officials has become a routine affair across Bhaderwah town, while the beneficiaries are not getting their rightful share. Almost all the households in Bhaderwah town are authorized by the state government to get 5 litres of kerosene per month from various outlets sanctioned by the state CAPD department in different wards, but instead of blue colour of kerosene, the black marketing is on unabated. "It is supplied through bulk card (it is like BPL card and ration card) by the Tehsil and District Civil Supplies Office, but either these sanctioned and authorized K. outlet dealers / owners get very less quantity of kerosene or they do not get at all and this quantity of blue kerosene is manipulated by the them along with some corrupt officials of supplies office and sold in black market at a higher rate of Rs 30 per litre to bus owners" sources informed. They further said that the minibus and bus operator purchased kerosene at Rs. 30 per liter instead of diesel which is Rs 52 per liter. Hence, a matadoor driver / owner get around Rs 2,000 per day as benefit if they run their bus 500 km everyday" sources said. An RTI activist, Abdul Kabir Malik of Mohalla Khakal alleged that in his ward CAPD has sanctioned / alloted K.Oil outlet to one Quyoom Khan, but he has sub let the same to another person on commission basis, and that person refused to give kerosene as per quota. "I am very sorry to say that our poor state has got 24 poor districts with 24 wealthy civil supplies offices" He lambasts. |
