Jammu, Mar 5: The workers of the Dogra Front and Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir protested against the adjournment motion moved by the main opposition party PDP for the discussion on Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru in the Assembly. The protesters under the leadership of Ashok Gupta took out a procession from Parade ground, Raj Tilak road which concluded at Purani Mandi. They asked the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister to take action against the "assertive nuance taking place in the J&K assembly on the Afzal's hanging." "At the time of the address of the governor independent MLA Engineer Rashid supported by PDP raised slogans 'Afzal Ke Khoon Ka Hesab Dena Hoga' and 'Aap Ko Bhi Aur India Ko Bhi' but no action has been taken by the Governor against the anti Indian menace," he said. Gupta demanded that the governor should take serious action by sending the name of the independent MLA to the Election Commission of India asking for barring of his name and taking away his rights of contesting in the elections of the democratic framework. He said it was unfortunate that even though after taking the oath of protecting the democracy and sovereignty of the country the independent MLA is talking against the country. |
