KATHUA, Mar 9: Stadium (Senior) XI shall be playing against Police Training School (PTS)-B in the final of the Kathua Premier League (KPL) underway at Sports Stadium, here today. Earlier, in the second semifinal, played today, Stadium XI defeated Tawla Cricket Club (TCC) by five wickets. Batting first, TCC could not do well and bowled out for 114 runs in 18.5 overs. In reply, Stadium XI chased the target making 117 runs for five in 16.3 overs. Lara remained top scorer with 23-ball 39 runs made with the help of three sixes while Sonu contributed 12 runs to the total. From Stadium XI, Shiv Dutt was most successful bowler who took four wickets for 17 runs while Dravid bagged three. Later, Stadium XI attained the goal making 117 runs in 16.3 overs with five wickets in hand. Arvind played match winning knock of unbeaten 67 (off 44 balls, 10x4), followed by Shiv Dutt, who added 20-ball 21. Sandy clinched three wickets for 14 runs and Monty took two from TCC. For his match winning innings of 67 runs, Arvind was declared man of the match. Today's match was officiated by Anoop Sharma and Ram Lubhaya as umpires while Pushkar was scorer. |
