Jammu, Mar 9: Public Peace and Development Foundation (PPDF) today celebrated international Women Day with the collaboration of women empowerment cell of Government Degree College (GDC) Poonch.
According to press release, the function was presided over by Prof. G L Sharma, Principal of college, while Prof. Mussaraf Hussain Shah was the Chief Guest of the programme and, Prof. Tajinder Singh was the Guest of Honour.
Large number of students participated in the function and expressed their views of the Women empowerment. Speaking on the occasion Prof. M.H. Shah, highlighted the role of women in 21st Century and said that women are bearing more stress as they have to balance their life between family and office.
“They are leading all the domain of civil society, and not only looking after the children and domestic affairs but also working shoulder to shoulder with their male family member to meet out the economic challenges of 21st century” he added.
Dr. Jasbir Singh, Dr. MohdAzam, Prof. Kamaljit Singh, Prof. Farooq Ahmed, Dr. Mohd Latief Mir, Dr. HarvinderKour, Dr.Shamim Ahmed Banday, Dr. Mohd Saleem, SanjyTandon S. Kulbir Singh, Deepak Bhartialso also addressed the function.
In presidential address Prof. G.L. Sharma appreciated the efforts of Public Peace and Development foundation especially Muzaffar Ahmed Khawaja, who organized the function for awareness about women Empowerment. |
