Rajouri, Mar 16: Police has today booked a senior congress leader for allegedly thrashing an aged lady in border district Rajouri, police sources said. Meanwhile, they added the police is ascertaining reason behind this gruesome episode.
Police sources said police have booked a senior congress leader identified as Vaid Prakash Guru for severely thrashing an aged lady. The injured has been identified as Krishna Devi w/o late Kanshi Ram of W-8 Rajouri, police sources said.
They added as per eyewitness said that Guru forcibly barged into the house of victim and started beating her mercilessly, resulting into multiple injuries to lady.
When neighbours rushed to rescue the lady from his clutches, the assaulter flee from the spot. The neighbours later shifted the injured to District Hospital Rajouri for medical treatment.
Meanwhile concerned police has lodged an FIR under relevant sections and has started investigations in this regard. Police said accused who is evading his arrest will be arrested soon.
