et plus report JAMMU, Mar 16: Jammu and Kashmir Police is itself contradicting its claims vis-à-vis the obeying of traffic rules in the winter capital of the state. The police personnel can easily be seen on the road riding bikes without helmet, number plates or doing triple riding. In the picture clicked by this reporter, one can easily judge the situation on the ground, Two police cops in uniform are riding a bike without helmet and looking mischievously at the commoners who are buying helmet from the roadside venders. “With utmost respect to the Police personnel for offering the best of them to our state, I have a slight doubt whether these people are exempted from certain rules/ regulations on the road or they take it as a matter of right, always,” said Sudesh Kumar, an Engineer. “I have never seen any policeman wearing seat belts in their Gypsy irrespective if they are driving or are co passengers,” he added. Police Gypsies can always be seen parked on the 'main road' leading to traffic snarls. These people (except few) never pay parking charges, toll tax etc. Earlier the traffic department has given strict instructions to Police to obey all the traffic rules, but all of them gone in the air with concluding Traffic week. “I think no traffic cop dares to challan any policeman. Just one query - are their certain relaxation of traffic rules for them or are they so very special to be treated different??” asked Suruchi Gupta.
