| Mufti talk leaves a scar in Wani's chest! | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Aug 2: National Conference Provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani on Thursday ridiculed Peoples Democratic Party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's assertion on "Imaginary solution" to Kashmir issue if given 40 seats. Wani said PDP behaved cunningly and played tricks. Well Nasir seems totally unaware of the history of the party he belongs to. The NC used green cloth and rock salt to woo, rather fool the gullible Kashmiri voters. Take any history book, Nasir and you will find Sher-e-Kashmir talking of Azadi (freedom) when out of power. He loved India only while sitting on the seat of power. The solutions he put forth range from internal autonomy to trifurcation of the state. And, in the end he did not care for autonomy as well. He was lowered to the position of Chief Minister in 1975 and he accepted it and the autonomy was remitted to the principals. Interestingly, he never called the meeting of the principles and buried autonomy. Playing an immature politician, Wani wants to know if Mufti Sayeed had a solution for the vexed problem. Even if he has one, why should he share it with a second line NC leader? Wani's outburst, political experts believe, is an outcome of frustration. The PDP has been making inroads in strong NC bastions and it has not gone well with the NC leadership. Wani further said that PDP was a sinking ship. Why should a NC leader be worried about a rival party's fate? This reveals that the PDP is pinching Wani somewhere deep inside his chest. |
