| Questions Roma Wani needs to answer to clear confusion | | State Red Cross branch in a shambles | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 2: Roma Wani, state general secretary of Red Cross, needs to answer certain questions which are being asked by many these days in Jammu to clear confusion. Is she not acting in an "arbitrary fashion to the detriment of the regional unit of Red Cross Jammu"? Is she "working BEHIND THE BACK of the regional branch in Jammu"? Did she meet DC Kathua a couple of days ago to discuss functioning of the Red Cross and did not talk to the regional branch? Why? Did she meet DC Samba for the same purpose and took the Jammu branch of Red Cross into confidence before or after meting the DC? Did she meet DC Reasi for the same purpose and took the Jammu branch of the Red Cross into confidence before or after meeting the DC? Did she visit Bhaderwah after the earthquake and brought in teams from Kashmir to work there and did she take the Jammu regional branch into loop? If not, why not? Is she working on the idea of Greater Kashmir by using the Kashmir branch of the Red Cross in the Muslim-majority areas of Jammu province? Is she not undermining the Jammu branch of the Red Cross by using the services of the Kashmir branch of the Red Cross in certain areas of Jammu province? Is she pursuing both communal and regional agendas for certain purposes? Is it a fact that "6,000" blankets were sent from Delhi and the same were taken from Jammu to Srinagar at her behest? Is it a fact that she sent 500 blankets to Jammu when the matter was brought to the notice of the Governor, who is head of the state unit of Red Cross? Is it fact that blankets to Jammu traverse the route of Delhi-Jammu-Srinagar and then back to Jammu? Why should only 500 blankets be made available with the Jammu regional branch? What is the proportion in which the LARGESSE offered by the Red Cross should be divided between the Jammu and the Kashmir regional branches? These are some of the pertinent questions which deserve immediate and definite answers in the larger interest of the state branch of the Red Cross. |
