| Kamaal trashes apology demand, tells Congress to mind its tongue | | | Abodh Sharma JAMMU, Aug 2: National Conference additional general secretary Mustafa Kamaal has rubbished the demands of apology from the Congress for his scathing counter attack on the Pradesh Congress including its president, Saif-ud-Din Soz, the previous day. Reacting sharply to the statement of the senior party functionaries of the Pradesh Congress after a meeting held here today, in which they demanded apology from Kamaal for his alleged indecent comments against the party and the president of the state unit, Kamaal said that they must first look into the statements made by their senior office bearer against tallest leader of the National Conference. "They should see the statements made against patron of the national conference, who is our tallest leader after Sher -i-Kashmir. Criticizing NC and its leaders has become favourite pass time for some Congress leaders and we cannot take it anymore" Kamaal said expressing anguish. "They launched a personal attack against Shiekh family, threatening disclosures.. if they design to launch personal attacks, they must be prepared to face the counter as well" Kamaal said. Asked if this war of words could affect the health of NC-Congress coalition, Kamaal said, "This is not a merger of parties, but coalitions of two independent parties to run a Government, which is running smoothly, but I maintain that Congress must desist from personal attacks to keep the coalition in good health". It is pertinent to mention here that in response to statements made by a senior Valley based Congress leader against NC Patron Farooq Abdullah the previous day, Kamaal had called State Congress Chief Professor Saif-ud-Din Soz a political turncoat, who had from time to time stabbed the back of National Conference. Attacking the pradesh Congress, Kamaal had said, " Congress is not a party but a department in Jammu and Kashmir which is run and maintained by New Delhi. The State Congress leaders are being paid on monthly basis by New Delhi and lions share goes into the pockets of Saif-ud-Din Soz for his Chanakiyan policies."
