Jammu, Aug 2: Six students of Model Academy, the prestigious school of MIER, participated in the INSPIRE- DST Science Camp organized at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra from July 22-26.
Around 250 students from different schools of Jammu also participated in the camp. Mentors and scholars from diverse fields of Science and different parts of the country were present to motivate, encourage and stimulated the students to take up a career in a scientific field of their choice. Eminent resource persons such as Prof Sneh Kumar Dogra, Prof R J H Gill, Prof Narendra Bhandari, Dr SupriyoMitra, Prof D P Abrol, Prof Sudhir K Jain and Prof Manesh Gulati spoke on thought provoking concepts like Earthquake, Meteoroids, Comets and Hydrogen bonding. The students actively participated in the various sessions and also interacted with the resource persons.
Practical sessions were also organized under the guidance of the experts such as using a night vision telescope. Participation certificates were given to all the students by Coordinator of the programme Prof S K Wanchoo. |
