Srinagar, August 2: Jumat-ul-Vida, the last Friday of this blessing month of Ramadan was observed today across Jammu and Kashmir State with reverence and religious fervor while as Jumat-ul-Vida was also observed as Youm-e-Quds and Youm-e-Kashmir (Quds and Kashmir Day) in the state. Reports reaching Srinagar based news gathering agency GNS said that thousands of people joined the prayers at centrally located historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, hence witnessed the largest congregational gathering. The second largest congregational gathering was witnessed at Hazratbal Shrine here where thousands of people offered Jumat-ul-Vida prayers. From early morning thousands of devotees' bound vehicles could be seen on their way to Dargah, Hazratbal. The congregational prayers were also held at all Masajid and Shrines in Srinagar including Masjid Jamiat-e-Ahle Hadith, Gawkadal, Asar-e-Sharif, Janab Sahib Soura, Asar-e-Sharif Shehri Kalashpora Ziarat-e-Makhdoom Sahib, Khanqah-e-Mualla and different Imambaras. In North Kashmir, people in large numbers offered the Jumat-ul-Vida congregational prayers at Jamia Masjid Hanfia, Jamia Masjid Ahle Hadith, Jamia Masjid Murshadin, Markazi Jamia Masjid Muqam-e-Shahwali in and around Kupwara town. Huge congregational prayers were also offered in Ziarat-e-Sharief Muqam-e-Shahwali and Drugmulla areas of the district. In Baramulla, the biggest congregational prayers were held in Bait-ul- Mukarram Jamia Masjid. Huge congregational prayers were also witnessed in Khankah Sopore, Jamia Masjid Paattan and Jamia Tangmarg. Thousands of Muslims also offered Jumat-ul-Vida prayers in all other districts of state including Baderwah, Banihal and Ramban areas. Meanwhile, peaceful protest marches were taken out from across the Kashmir Valley including Srinagar, Budgam, and Baramulla which went through their respective markets. Kargil town also witnessed huge gathering as a mark of solidarity march for the occupied people of Palestine by the imperialist and Zionist forces .Thousands of people observing fast had gathered at Qatilgah for the Friday prayers. |
