| NC,Cong trying to malign VDCs : Bhagat | | | Jammu, Aug 8: After feeling exposed and facing the wrath of the earth quake affected people of erstwhile district Doda, present regime has joined hands with separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani to disturb the secular fabric and harmony in Jammu region and maligning Village Defence Committees (VDCs) to divert attention of people from their mis-governance, stated by BJP State General Secretary & former MLA Bali Bhagat.
While addressing a press conference, BJP State General Secretary & former MLA Bali Bhagat said that in order to carry forward the agenda of Geelani to disband Village Defence Committees (VDCs) which have played vital role to combat insurgency and instill confidence among the people.
BJP leader said Congress and NC under a planned conspiracy are spreading all sorts of rumours to malign VDCs and create a wedge between different communities for their political gains. Referring highly provocative statement of Geelani, BJP leaders advised Geelani to remain confined to his area. BJP leaders demanded identification and booking under PSA the planted anti people elements who have created fear psychosis among people and for exemplary punishment. These leaders also called upon IGP, Jammu, to apprise him of the prevailing situation on account of the recent development and sought his intervention.
