| Channi Himmat residents criticize PDD | | | Bijay Charak
Jammu, Aug 8: Resident of Channi Himmat Sector 1-A have expressed resentment against Power Development Department (PDD) for frequent disruption of power supply in their locality.
A local Dr. Kuldeep Singh said that the transformer installed in Sector 1-A has been giving power supply to Sector 1, inspite of the fact that there were two transformers, placed in the same sector whose load have been distributed to few dominant residents. He added the transformer installed in their locality was not sufficient to carry the load of the houses in the area.
"The PDD must look into the matter seriously and should do everything possible to solve such a problem of the local residents. Whole Jammu is struck with the problem of power cuts and the administration is least bothered about the miseries residents of Jammu" Dr. Kuldeep Singh rued.
Another resident Rahul Sharma said that despite revising the loads, proper allocation of electricity has not been provided to their locality and the Power Development Department has not installed any new transformer from many years. He also stated that there is a need of changing the capacity of the transformer as the residents of this area have increased since a decade and no sign of allocation of new transfer has been shown by the authorities. |
