Et Report

Jammu, Aug 8: Activists of National Secular Forum today held a protest rally against UPA-Government in Nagrota and urged to nullify all the recent appointments made in the Central University Jammu (CUJ) "as the process and procedures adopted was totally unethical, illegal, violation of the fundamental right of equal opportunity."The NSF demanded CBI inquiry in the recently held appointments of Assistant Professors in the CUJ. Addressing the protesters NSF President Sukhdev Singh condemned the 'discrimination and suppression' of the Jammu youth in the recent appointments of CUJ.Singh alleged that in the recent appointments of Assistant Professors in the CUJ the eligible candidates who were hailing from Jammu region were ignored and avoided."Four candidates who were already working in the Department of Economics in the CUJ for the same posts as contractual Assistant Professors and also they had applied for the permanent posts," he said. Similarly, in the Department of Environmental Science, he said, all candidates who belong to the Jammu region were deprived from appearing even for the interviews. "In the Department of Education the same case has been noticed that all the three appointments which were made recently included candidates from any other states and Jammu based candidates who were working as contractual Assistant Professor on the same posts were not even short listed for the interview although highly qualified and experienced," he said.Singh questioned about the credibility of the CUJ in absence of the latest updates of its workings, plans, calendar, appointments, and all other information on its website. He alleged that only CUJ is running on the grounds of no information to the general public on its website in India. The NSF President also briefed about the signature campaign which enters in the consecutive 35th day today. He said that more than 1.25 lakh person from Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch, Kathua, and Samba districts have put their signatures. He claimed that CUJ has becomes rehabilitate centre for nears and dears of some officials while the deserving candidates were ignored without any reason. Singh demanded a CBI inquiry in the recent appointments and urged to the Governor of the state to take some strict actions against all the culprits who found guilty thereby. Among those who were present in the protests included, Akshey Sharma, Sunil Kumar, Balveer Kumar, Barket Tahir, Tanveer Ahmed, Rishikesh, Pushpinder Singh and Parveen Kumar.
