| As BOSE still goes without chairman, education suffers | | | early times report JAMMU, Aug 8: Asserting that Board of School Education (BOSE) which still goes without chairman is affecting the education system, the Jammu private school and ETT institute association has asked state government to appoint new chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) without any further delay. It may be mention here that the association had also sought Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's intervention for initiating concrete measures both at political and administrative level to tackle the priority field of Education in a focused manner. "Vital issues related to School Education like constantly degrading and corruption based trends JKBOSE besides sub-standard monitoring of School Education by the state agencies at rural levels is responsible for the prevailing chaos in this priority sector", said another member of the association on the condition of anonymity. The association stated that for achieving the quality education mark in J&K, there was an immediate need to bring basic reforms in School Education. "Allocation of priority sector related portfolios to non concerned political faces of government is mainly responsible for the prevailing drawbacks. Further, worst conditions of school education board are being treated in a casual way", he claimed. At the helm of affairs "Government have given charge of chairman to the Hirdesh Kumar for some time until the new chairman will be appointed but it seems as government is not interested to appoint independent chairman" said one of the member of ETT. When contacted to Hirdesh Kumar- Secretary, School Education said "the government given me the charge of chairman for the smooth running of school authority". He further added that "I am not appointed temporary from now I am going to handle all the work as a chairman of JKBOSE". |
