| Coal loaded truck used for Bovine smuggling, 2 held | | | Early Times Report Udhampur, Aug 8: Continuing its drive against bovine smuggling, Police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid with arresat of two persons adopting a new modus operandi of bovine smuggling by creating special containers in the utility item loaded trucks for transporting bovine animals. The accused have been identified as Mohin Hussain Khan S/o Riaz Hussain Khan R/o Qazigund, Anantnag and Rayees Ahmed Dar R/o Qazigund, Anantnag, police said. Police said, "Based on reliable information, a Police Party of Police Station Kud laid a surprise naka near Kud main bazaar and intercepted a Truck bearing Registration No JK03C-453 on its way towards Srinagar. "During search of the truck, Police noticed a special container constructed in the truck above the load of Coal and Police found 12 bovine animals packed in container, police said. During the verification of the registration of truck, Police found that the number plate of vehicle was also fake and the actual registration number of the truck was JK03C-7131. Both the bovine smugglers namely were arrested on the spot. In this connection, a case FIR No. 94/2013 U/S 188/RPC, 3/PCA stands registered in Police Station Kud against the above named accused smugglers . |
