Theft case solved within in 24 hours

Udhampur, Aug 8: Police today claimed to have worked out a theft case in Udhampur and recovered stolen truck just within 24 hours. As per police reports a complaint was lodged in Police Station Udhampur Chenani by one Sanjay Kumar S/o Govind Ram R/o Ballian, Udhampur on Aug 07, stating that on 04/08/2013 evening, he parked the tanker roadside along National Highway near Ballian Udhampur and during the intervening night of Aug 04/05 some unknown thief stole his truck. "He tried to search the stolen truck for 02 days on his own but all in vain, the complainant stated. "Based on the complaint, a Case FIR No. 237/2013 U/S 379/RPC was
registered in Police Station Udhampur and the Police swung into action, police said, adding, "After hectic efforts, Police recovered the truck from Jammu." "However, noticing the movement of Police party, the thief managed to escape leaving behind the abandoned truck. Police parties have been dispatched to apprehend the absconding thief. Further investigation of the case is going on, police said.
