| Omar Abdullah should have taken cue from Qalamabad rally: Er Rashid | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Aug 25: Taking a dig on the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah over the suspension of four officials of the J&K Information Department, MLA Langate, Engineer Rashid Sunday asked Omar Abdullah to revive the memories of Qalamabad public rally.
"Let me remind Omar Abdullah when he along with Dr Farooq Abdullah addressed a public gathering at Qalamabad, Langate during Parliamentary campaign, there was a problem in Public Address System. I got down from the stage and removed barbed wire and asked him to address people without getting scared from them. He did the same and people really felt good," Rashid told a local news agency adding that instead of leaving the venue in South Kashmir on Saturday, he should have addressed people by removing concertina wires, which creates a wide gap between him and people.
He said that Omar Abdullah should have taken cue from Qalamabad rally and should have addressed people without using public address system.
"Omar Abdullah is the head of the State and he should not maintain gap with them. He faced the problem once and got 4 officials suspended and what about common people who pass through troubled waters on daily basis,"he said.
Pertinently, four officials of the J&K Information Department were placed under suspension Saturday after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah failed to address a public rally in this south Kashmir district following some snag in the public address system. |
