Katra, Aug 25: In blatant violation of circular issued by Director General of Police (DGP), restricting deputation of police officials in one wing of Police for not more than five years, several affluent influential Inspectors are working in executive wing of Police ranging from 8-10 years but higher officials have turned a blind eye over it. Sources informed Early Times that on 21st July, 2012, DGP Ashok Prasad had issued a circular number PHQ-2615/2012, restricting posting of a police official in one wing of police only for five years, but the circular issued by DGP was seemingly put into cold bags by state government under pressure from several ministers. According to data available, scores of Inspectors have been securing their postings in executive wing of Police as Station House Inspectors (SHOs) and have been making their own fortunes and appeasing their political masters, since years. Parvez Ahmed, presently SHO Nagrota is serving in executive wing for the last around 15 years. He was SHO Nagrota and later transferred and made as SHO Jajjar Kotli and recently once again he is transferred and made as SHO Nagrota. Inspector Pardeep Gupta, who is presently SHO Rehmbal is also in executive wing of Police for the last around 8-10 years. Earlier he served as SHO Katra, SHO Rehambal, SHO Majalta and now again he has been posted as SHO Rehambal. More surprisingly, Pardeep Gupta was transferred on complaint basis (allegedly demanding graft from vendors), when he was SHO Katra by SSP Raghubeer Singh but once again he secured his posting as SHO. Around 3 months back, when Pardeep Gupta was SHO Rehambal, his PSO was punished for accepting bribe of Rs. 500 from bovine smugglers, but instead of complaints of corruption against Pardeep Gupta, once again he secured posting as SHO Rehambal, raising serious question mark over function of Police department and political clout of Pardeep Gupta. Similarly, Inspector Virender Gupta is also working in executive wing for the last 8-10 years. Presently, he is serving as SHO City Thana Rajouri, and earlier he served as SHO Katra, SHO Reasi and at many other police stations. SHO Kishtwar, Inspector Bishnesh Kumar, SHO Deepak Jasrotia are also serving in executive wing for the last 8-10 year. Inspector Arun Jamwal, who is presently SHO Bari Brahamana, is struck in executive wing for the last 8-10 years. Earlier he served as SHO Katra and SHO Akhnoor and same is the case of Inspector Vikram Parihar, who after serving as SHO Udhampur, at various police station of Rajouri and now posted as SHO Kalakote. Another Inspector is Raghubeer Choudhary, presently posted as SHO Kud is also serving in executive wing for the last more than 10 years. More brazenly, earlier he was serving as Inspector Traffic Police. "As per rules, a police official who serves in Traffic police has to be shifted in other wings rather than executive wing, but Raghubeer Choudhary was made SHO Kud, on very next he transferred from Traffic police", sources said. |
