ET REPORT Jammu, Aug 25: Jammu Kashmir Union of Working Journalists (JKUWJ) strongly condemned the most heinous crime of gang rape on a photo journalist at Mumbai when she was on her professional duty and described it a shame to those who are sitting at the helm of affairs and not bringing required drastic changes in the totally collapsed laws of the country. JKUWJ said millions of rupees, hardened money of the tax payers are being spent on elections of parliament, state legislatures to make laws, bring amendments in defunct laws but these two institutions have become the source of remains in power, safe passage to corrupt practices and has totally collapsed the system. JKUWJ further said that after the Delhi Bus Rape case, the people of the country raised full one voice against the defunct laws of the country but the people elected for the job not hear the voice of the people and there is hardly any case where our courts strictly punished the rapists in whole of the country and there is nothing happened in that case also. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of its President Uday Chand and attended by Om Dalmotra, Senior Vice President, RK Chandan, Vice President, Ravi Khajuria, Treasurer, Shashi Verma, Secretary, Rehmat Ullah Ronial, Ashok Sharma, Vijay Malla, Harcharan Singh, Jagdish Choudhary, Sushil Bali. They demanded that there should be death sentence to the accused in a full public view. |
