| Sarpanch evades arrest after assaulting BDO official | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Aug 25: Even as Kathua police have booked a Sarpanch for allegedly assaulting a Government official in the Block Development Office (BDO) two days back, the accused has successfully evaded arrest. Reports said that the employees of BDO Block Kathua approached police with a written complaint alleging that Sarpanch of Chak Dera Desa Singh, Dalip Singh had come to the office two days back and thrashed an official Jia Lal Section officer and decamped with official files. Records of two years were lying on the table as the official was preparing to go out for the meeting. Jia Lal alleged that the erring Sarpanch entered the office and misbehaved and abused him. After snatching the office record, the sarpanch fled away. The employees protested against sarpanch and demanded arrest his arrest for assaulting Government official. As soon as the BDO received information, he moved a complaint following which a case under FIR number 312 of 2013 under section 353 and 382 of RPC was registered. Locals alleged that police succumbing under political pressure did not secure the arrest the Sarpanch till date. |
