Firing continues for 2nd consecutive day along LoC

Poonch, Aug 25: Firing from across the Line of Control continued on the second consecutive day in Keri, Ghambir , Manjakot (Rajouri) Tarkundi and Balkot sectros (Poonch) on Sunday.
Unprovoked and indiscriminate salvo being launched by the Pakistan troops at Indian troops in Rajouri district, for the first time after the behaeding of two soldier on January ,8 this year, has reported no loss to property or life in these sectors. However, some mortar shells fell near the houses of people living along the LoC which has created tension among them and a portion of fence was reportedly damged in Balkot sector but not confirmed by the army sources. An atmosphere of tension, fear has been created among the inhabitants in Tarab, Garuthi, Kangagali, Uppar Rajdhani etc and they have been asked by the army to remain inside during the firing from across the border. Some of the people living in villages close to firing range have reportedly shifted temporarily to some safer places in the area to avoid hitting by the mortar shells. "Pakistan Army has violated truce agreement thrice each on Saturday and Sunday in BG sector with mortars, small arms and automatic weapons" said RK Palta, Jammu based PRO defence.
Sources added that more than 60 mortar shells fired by the Pakistan army have fell in the areas between Tarkundi and Kangagali and no repot of any loss was reported till the filing of this report and firing was also continue.
Reports skirmishes also pouring in from Chiti Bakri area in Keri sector in Rajouri district where Sikh regiment deployed for manning the border have retaliated with iron hand.
Some reliable sources said that army has reported no loss to life or property till now. However some portion of fence was damaged in mortar firing near water point in Balakot sector in Poonch district today. At the time of filing this report intermittent firing was continue in Keri and BG sectors while firing has stopped in Tarkundi and Balakot sectors.
