SIT recovers 16 stolen guns, over two dozen rioters identified

KISHTWAR, Aug 25: Special Investigation team constituted by the DGP Ashok Prashad on the direction of the state government has so far recovered 16 guns stolen from a gun shop in Kishtwar on August 9. As per police sources, SIT has so far recovered 16 guns out of 42 stolen from armory shop and said that efforts are on to recover the remaining stolen weapons. Sources said that SIT raided at several places in search of the stolen weapons. Sources further added that on the basis of statement recorded by over a dozen people, supplemented by concrete evidences, SIT has so far prepared a list of over two dozen people involved in loot and burning of shops, public and government property and on the bases of these evidences, SIT will soon launch a manhunt with the help of local police to arrest the identified culprits.
Reports further added that SIT is still examining more evidences which will help them to identify and nab culprits involved in August 9, 2013 communal clashes which led to killing of three people.
