USTA anguished over 'pick-n-choose' transfer policy in Edu Deptt

Kathua, Aug 25: A meeting of activists of J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) was held under the chairmanship of its Provincial President Hari Singh here on Sunday. In the meeting strategy was checked out to mobilize teaching community for Teachers Day celebration, which is going to be organized at Goswami Guru Nabha Dass Hall, Near Shakuntla Theater Jammu on September 5 to focus on prevailing education scenario and status of teacher in the state. In the meeting teacher leaders also expressed anguish over 'pick-n-choose policy' adopted in recent adjustments of lecturers and masters by Education Department. They strongly condemned the notifications issued by Chief Education Officer (CEO) Reasi and Udhampur forcing new promotes to join unsuitable places 'whereas they adopted biased norms to get posting of their near and dears very suitable places.' The USTA appealed to Director School Education to modify the hard hit cases suitably otherwise they will be forced to launch agitation in the near future.
