Violating DC’s directives mining continues near bridges

Kathua, Aug 29: Notwithstanding the imposition of section 144 by district administration, one kilometer up and down of National highway at Sahar Khud bridge, the evacuation of sand and other building material from the nullahs/rivers is continue, posing serious threat to bridges.
Under the nose of district administration Kathua, politically affluent stone crusher owners are busy in exploiting the river bed, flouting directives of DC.
Assistant Divisional Engineer Railway Khosla, while talking to media persons said that the matter of mining near the railway bridge has been brought into the notice of district administration and they have been urged to take action to stop the mining.
