For this purpose, the NC leadership in Kargil is making every effort to get independent candidates on their side. The NC is sending a message outside that four out of five independents were supported by them. "These independent members will support NC and will help in forming council," said a NC leader. But actually the NC people are shattered by this results which has put party in a fix as people are now aware of the deceptive tactics of party and thus Congress men got votes from people. Such is the set back for the NC that not a single party leader from Srinagar is visiting Kargil to participate in the process of attracting independent members. Sources told Early Times that few NC leaders were all set to reach Kargil to celebrate but results have put them in a fix and all plans were shattered. "The NC was eagerly waiting for the results to start the campaign for parliamentary and Assembly elections. But adverse results are not going well with the party leadership thus everybody decided not to visit the area," sources added. Now, NC men in Kargil are on the job to lure independent candidates and form council and put a face in front of people that they have won and not lost. Sources said that NC president Dr. Farooq Abdullah is not happy with Kargil results and have called for immediate introspection so that results don't hurt them in future elections. "The NC provincial president Kashmir, Nasir Aslam Wani has been asked to ascertain the reason behind poor performance in Kargil polls and prepare a report with all high and lows,' sources added. Sources said that NC still has hope that the party will form council and if it happens, they will start preparing for upcoming elections. |
