JAMMU, Aug 29: To remember the hockey wizard, Major Dhyan Chand, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) Katra today organised a quiz competition involving six teams drawn from different educational institutions and sports clubs.
The team from Government Higher Secondary School Panthal emerged winner while second place went to Higher Secondary School Reasi. Royal Fencing Club finished third. Quiz was conducted Ranjeet Singh (PEM, GHS Katra), Vikrant Singh (PET, MS Kundrorian) and Ajay Kumar (PET, DYSS Office Reasi). Before start of the event, District officer, DYSS Reasi, Dr Swaran Singh Chib threw light on the life of Major Dhyan Chand quoting various instances.
Deputy Chief Executive Officer of SMVDSB, Rashpal Singh was chief guest while OSD SMVDSB Katra, Rajinder Singh and president of Hostel and Restaurant Association of Katra were guests of honour.
