Sports Reporter SRINAGAR, Aug 29: Despite making first century of the tournament, Javaid Mir could not lead Sachdeva Leopards to win in the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir Corporate Cricket League (JKCPL) at Kashmir University ground, here today. It was because of the brilliant unbeaten innings from the duo of Hamid Nazir and Pawan Negi that TCI Cheetahs trounced Sachdeva comfortably by seven wickets. Earlier, batting first, Sachdeva Leopards set a target of 175 runs for two wickets. Javed Mir played captains knock hitting 66-ball 100 runs studded with 13 boundaries and four sixes. Asif Rasool contributed 61 runs made off 49 deliveries with the help of five fours and two sixes. Umar Nazir took both the wickets lost by Sachdeva. In reply, TCI Cheetahs overhauled the opponent total making 180 runs in 18.2 overs losing three wickets. Hamid Nazir made unbeaten 86 runs facing 43 deliveries hitting the ball for 10 fours and three sixes. Pawan Negi contributed 49 runs and remained not out. Asif, Irfan and Minhaj shared one wicket each from Sachdeva. For his brilliant batting, Hamid Nazir was declared man of the match. Prize for maximum sixes went to Asif Rasool. |
