| Plantation drive held | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 29: Mother The Nature NGO and Urban Forestry Jammu continuing their joint effort towards greening Jammu today reached out to SOS Home Balgran and held plantation drive.
Mother the Nature NGO, headed by SS Bijral former IGP as its founder Director General was instrumental in having the wild stony area of SOS Home turned into a beautiful play ground involving Headquarters 26 Infantry Div. & JKAP 9th Bn between Dec. 2005 to May 2006.
He explained to them the importance and the role plants play in sustaining life over the planet and had a loud promise from them all that the saplings they all would now plant in the play ground would be taken care of by them.
He advised them to adopt plant saplings in various groups to fulfill this responsibility. Teg Bahadur Singh DFO Urban Forestry with his staff personally supervised the plantation work with children fully enjoying the noble exercise.
Amrish Kumar Khajuria C.E.(Rtd), the Secretary SOS Home and Principal Bal Bharti Public School highly applauded the most needed green drive undertaken by Mother The Nature & Jammu Urban Forestry. |
