2 yrs RI, fine awarded to accused for outraging woman's modesty

Jammu, Aug 29 (JNF): City Judge Jammu today awarded two years rigorous imprisonment and fine Rs 5000 to one accused for attempt to outrage modesty of woman. Court further directed the fine if realized shall be paid to victim as compensation.
City Judge Jammu Abdul Nasir after hearing Senior PO Anshuman Dubey for the state observed that in the light of entry of the accused in the room of complainant and his attempt to outrage the modesty of the complainant stands proved and thus court has awarded two years RI and fine Rs 5000 to the accused. Court also directed that the fine if realized shall be given to victim as compensation.
According to the police case that on May 8, 2009 complainant lodged a written report in P/S Canal Road to the effect that today in the morning one boy namely Raj Kumar entered into the house of the complainant and started using filthy language. The said person used to some obscene words and also teased her etc. Police registered a case u/s 354 RPC and after completion of investigation presented challan.
