early times report Jammu, Aug 29: Health wing of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today conducted awareness camp to aware the Bakers. According to press release, the bakery owners who have not applied for registration and licenses under the FSS Act 2006 have been directed to apply and get their licenses. They were also directed to wear mask, apron, cap, gloves etc while preparing the bakery items. The shopkeepers apprised the undersigned that they are not using the polythene carry bags and replace them with the non-biodegradable bags but as these bags are costly than the polythene bags and the customers are not paying the cost of these bags. However the undersigned have also appealed to the customers not to use polythene bags which are in long run injurious to health, can cause Cancer and impotency. Undersigned also requested to the customers either to bring their own non-biodegradable bags or pay for the non-biodegradable bags as per their costs to the shopkeepers and remove the menace of polythene. Moreover, the drive against the menace of adulteration, the Health Officer Jammu Municipal Corporation, Dr. Vinod Sharma along-with a team of Food Safety Officers, Assistant Sanitation Officers, Sanitary Inspectors and other field staff conducted an extensive tour in the areas like Bahu Fort and Narwal of Jammu City today on 29/08/2013 to check the quality of commonly used food items. The team inspected various food establishments Halwai shops, Cut fruit shops / rehries, Ice cream units and compounding fee of Rs. 4900/- was also realized from defaulters and about 5 kg of polythene we seized.During the round citizens were advised not to smoke in the public places as it is injurious to health, a fine of Rs. 200 would be imposed to those not adhering to the norms. |
