| PDP blames NC for ignoring constituencies represented by Opposition | | | Et Report Jammu, Sept 5 : Opposition PDP leaders have again berated the National Conference led Government for giving a raw deal to the constituencies represented in the Assembly by the PDP and even other opposition groups. Senior PDP leaders,Nizam-ud-Din Bhat and Mohd.Dilawar Mir said that the Government has been earmarking meager funds for various development projects in constituencies represented by the opposition.They said that as a result of discrimination in the allotment of funds and in sanctioning of new projects more than 30 Assembly segments in Jammu and Kashmir had not witnessed any development. They alleged that the 21 Assembly constiituencies, which are represented by the PDP I n the legislature,have been completely ignored by the Government. Dilawar Mir wanted to know whether the ruling NC leadership was simply punishing people for having voted in favour of the PDP candidates. Nizam-ud-Din Bhat,who organized a strong protest rally in his Bandipore constituency against raw deal given to people in the const ituency,said that these very people will punish the National confer ence in the next Assemly election. Bhat has alleged discrimination with the Bandipora constituency regarding the allotment of development projects.Expressing resentment over the 'discrimination' with his constituency and those represented by the PD P legislator, Bhat said that the Chief Minister does not have the right to discriminate with a constituency having MLA from the opposition party. The PDP leader said that besides regional discrimination,non-governance,rise in corruption,severe problem of unemployment and discrimination of constit uency where people had elected PD P would be part of the election manifesto of the PDP. He said that Omar Abdullah believes that by starving opposition represented constituencies of development funds people may vote in f avour of the NC but he Chief Minister was simply deceiving himself. Bhat demanded that the Government should redraw the annual plans for all those constituencies which have PD P MLAs so that additional funds were released for executing much needed development project |
