Jammu, Sept 5: Tainted Alok Kumar, a 1977 batch IPS of JK cadre is all set to stage a comeback to Jammu Kashmir. Alok after serving the state of Jammu & Kashmir in various capacities went on deputation to his parent state in 2010. After serving as SSP Railways Jamalpur for a brief period he managed posting as SSP Patna. Soon after, he was promoted as DIG because of his father's affiliation with Ram Vilas Paswan, the leader of the Lok Jan Shakti Party. As DIG Saran, he strained his relations with the liquor mafia and demanded Rs 10 Crore from them. However, the mafia proved too strong for him and he was placed under suspension on February 5, this year. A high level enquiry was also ordered against him. In April this year the enquiry recommended further suspension and urged the government of Bihar not to allow him to leave the state, he was attached with ADJ military Police. Alok enacted a drama in July and rushed to Bhagwanpur police station to lodge a complaint of harassment against the DGP and three senior officers. However, the SHO was not present much to Alok's annoyance. He argued with a police officer and manhandled him. A counter FIR was registered against him in the same police station. Notwithstanding the enquiry recommendations and the FIR against Alok, he managed an order from Joint Secretary Home directing the state of Bihar to relieve him immediately. Pertinent to mention here, a case of forgery is pending against him in Jammu & Kashmir. |
