Jammu, Sept 5: Literally hoodwinking and looting the job aspirants of state, the Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board made aspirants to fill the same form repeatedly for same posts advertised at various occasions during the last around three years. But to the dismay of the aspirants, the SSB has clubbed all posts and has been conducting a single written test. Experts have suggested recourse to consumer protection laws.
Several job aspirants informed Early Times that they had filled separate application forms (OMR forms) in the last around three years. "The cost of one application form was Rs. 200 for any post including, Teacher, Village Level Worker, Lab Assistant, Multi Purpose Worker, Gram Sevika, beside other", they said, adding that they had filled separate forms at separate occasions, whenever the posts were advertised by the SSB.
An aspirant, Rajesh Kumar rued that he had filled forms for the posts of Teacher at two separate occasions according to separate advertisement numbers viz-a-viz 512-05 of 2013 and 502-06 of 2013. "Now when I searched my roll number (admit card) on the official website of JKSSB, I get astonished to notice that both posts have been clubbed and only single test will be conducted on September, 14, 2013", he castigated.
Another job aspirant, Suresh Singh Katoch said that he has so far filled six application forms for the post of Junior Assistant in the last around three years. "If all these posts will also be clubbed by JKSSB, then I would be looted of Rs. 1000", he rued, adding that in the same way thousands of job aspirants have been looted of their precious money by JKSSB.
While castigating the SSB authorities, an official seeking anonymity said that not only SSB authorities, but Chief Secretary, Chief Minister and all other cabinet ministers were aware of this open loot by SSB, but all have shut their eyes. "There is Consumer Protection Act in J&K, but not a single law enforcement agency is taking action against the SSB authorities, which have looted thousands of jobless youth", he said, alleging that state government was aware of the fact, but has deliberately turned a Nelson's eye towards gross violation by SSB.
