CAPD issues set of instructions for dealers, consumers
Bid to check black marketing of PDS ration

Jammu, Sept 5: Taking cognizance of large scale complaints received by the department with regards to unavailability and black-marketing of ration at the depots and fair price shops, the directorate of CAPD has issued strict instructions to the dealers with regards to stock position, rates of various commodities and time tables of keeping the depots open for consumers.
As per circular NO.DCAPDJ/528-F/13/619 630 issued by Director CAPD Jammu, It has been notified for information of all concerned, Private dealers shall display information on notice board with regards to the rates of food grains, Depot No, families(APL,BPL,AAY); Fair Price shops/Sale depots shall remain open in winter 3 PM to 6 PM and in summers 4 PM to 7 PM (within muncipal limits) and from (10 AM to 4 PM) in muffasil/Rural areas even if ration is not available; Depots shall use Electronic weighing machines only instead of conventional weighing scales; Dealers shall not retain ration tickets/cards of the rationees as it is the property of rationees consumers; Area inspectors/Tehsil supply officer & Assistant Directors concerned shall keep a strict vigil over the distribution of food grains & kerosene oil by the fair price shops/kerosene oil depots as well. Violations , if any, may be dealt sternly in accordance with the rules.
Similarly, consumers/Rationees have been advised not to leave their ration tickets/cards with the ration dealers after receiving ration as it is property of the consumer.
The consumer/rationees can contact on toll free helpline numbers (1967-landline users and 0191- 2502609-mobile users)during working hours and lodge their complaints/ grievances if any.
"We have taken this initiative of publishing circular to apprise the price of different types of food grains and to further apprise the ration dealers to sell the ration at particular time and refrain from fleecing the consumers" said Director CAPD G S Chib while talking to Early Times.
The rates of various commodities have also been notified afresh for the convenience of the consumers , which are as follows:
