| NPSU protests 'sexual exploitation' of mentally challenged girls | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 5: Seeking severe punishment for those who were responsible for sexual exploitation of mentally challenged girls, activists of National Panthers' Students Union (NPSU) held a demonstration against the state government in front of Press Club, here today. NPSU activists under the leadership of State President NPSU Partap Singh Jamwal lambasted the state government for not punishing the accused who abducted and raped a girl at Narwal in 2008. "The accused is still roaming scot free even the victim who has died had recorded her statement before the court," said Jamwal. He said one of the three accused in rape case of a girl at Narwal was arrested but following the influence challan of the case was not presented till now following which the arrested person got bail and the rest two are roaming scot-free. "With their influence, the accused are manipulating the case," said Partap. Jamwal said further that it is very shameful for our state government that some persons running NGOs made prey the mentally challenged girls under the nose of District Administration. NPSU demanded stern action against the accused of sexual abuse of mentally challenged girls and Narwal victim.
