JAMMU, Sept 5: Agriculture Department organised awareness camps in Kartholi, Babliana and Shiv Nagar of zone Channi Himmat, on Thursday
According to press release, the camp was organized under National Food Security Mission on basmati 370. Director Agriculture, Jammu Ajay Khajuria, Chief Agriculture Officer Jammu Jitender Sharma and SDAO Dansal SKChibber briefed the farmers about the National Food Security Mission on basmati 370.
During the camp emphasis was given to strictly following package of practices for maintaining quality of the crop and increase production. Number farmers participated in the camps and detailed lectures were given by the experts on use of pesticides, fertilizers, bio fertilizers. Prominent among who attended the camp were Angrej Singh Sarpanch Kartholi, Shamsher Singh Sarpanch Babliana, Kartar Chand, Naib Sarpanch, Sukhdev Singh. Department also distributed pesticides (chlorophriphos and phorate 10G) to participants free of cost and spray pumps on 50% subsidy to desired farmers.
