Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 5: The executive committee of J&K branch of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) led by its Chairman CA Dalip K Kaul met the Commissioner of Income Tax, (J&K) A.K Thathai and impressed upon him for seeking of extension in the due date of filing of income Tax returns of assesses whose accounts are required to be audited by a further period of three months. The demand for extension was mainly raised due to the recent civil disturbances in the state of J&K due to Kishtwar turmoil. Also, the issue of technical difficulties faced by members in uploading the income Tax returns under revised procedures was also conveyed. A.K Thathai gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured his full cooperation in seeking extension from Central Board of Direct Taxes, New Delhi. Later on, the requests were submitted to Thathai in the form of a memorandum. The delegation later also met the Commissioner of Commercial, Taxes Kifayat Hussain Rizvi and appraised him about the difficulties faced by Chartered Accountants and handed over a memorandum to him.
