Various Govt Deptts not providing information under RTI: JLTP

KATHUA, Sept 5: Alleging that various government departments including office of Executive Engineer PHE, CEO Kathua, PARYAS and etc are not providing satisfactory replies to RTI pleas, Jan Lok Tantrik Party (JLTP) today said many state government departments are unsatisfactorily handling the RTI affairs by not providing appropriate information to the RTI applicants.
Sajjad Butt, State President JLTP, accompanied with Ranjit Singh, Distt President addressing a press co9nference here in Kathua said, "XEn PHE, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kathua, PRAYAS and many other departments for not providing satisfactory information against filed information.
Butt appraised that PHE department acted detrimental towards issues of people living in Billawar Kathua especially where localities inhabited by down trodden communities of section of society were denied of their due rights. "XEn provided incomplete information, he said.
He added that to another RTI plea about the fund spend for the construction of Kitchen Sheds across the district, CEO Kathua evading the detailed replied just replied that bills have been sent to treasury and refused to have any related record.
Ranjit Singh JLTP member informed that one Veena Devi, R/o Billawar, party worker, called on PRAYAS where DDC Kathua directly listens to grievances through phone call alleged on Mobile Company to get extra charges more than MRPs. Speakers demanded that concerned department should furnish appropriate information to the RTI pleas instead of hitting about the bush.
